Biography

Stephen P. Sorensen joined TAFS as a partner in 2013 from Williams & Connolly where he was also a partner. He specializes in trying high-stakes cases for plaintiffs in state and federal courts around the country.  His extensive experience also includes complex financial transactions where he has represented some of the largest global financial institutions in multi-billion dollar litigation matters.

Since 2013, Mr. Sorensen and TAFS have handled five cases where the damages exceeded a billion dollars having successfully taken three of those cases to trial.

Most recently, Mr. Sorensen won a $625 million verdict on behalf of the FDIC against PricewaterhouseCoopers. This was the largest verdict ever against an accounting firm.

Additionally, Mr. Sorensen represents whistleblowers before the IRS and Securities and Exchange Commission.  Mr. Sorensen currently represents whistleblowers in cases involving multi-billion dollar tax frauds.  

Mr. Sorensen graduated with distinction from Stanford Law School. Prior to starting his legal career, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa and worked as an economist at the RAND Corporation, a global policy think-tank.
